What is our targeted population?
The tree planting projects target natives (community) mainly women and youths .The target communities are encouraged to grow more trees. This is done with the aim of mitigating the adverse effects of climate change which is a global challenge.
Why plant trees ?
Restore degraded soil, Planting native tree species is critically important after deforestation.
Trees help reduce the spread of invasive species and retain the soil, prevent erosion and ensure that other plants have adequate nutrients to grow, Improve economic outcomes Communities in many parts of Uganda heavily rely on forest resources for fuel, food and as source of income. This project gets farmers involved in building new economic opportunities that are more sustainable and forest friendly Protect endangered species. Uganda is one of the most biologically diverse countries in Africa, home to endangered species like chimpanzees and most of the regions endemic bird species , planting native trees gives them a chance of survival
