Planting tress for bio-diversity will contribute to:
- Protecting endangered species by increasing forest cover.
- Restoring holistic ecosystems for a range of flora and fauna.
- Improving soil stability by restoring degraded areas.
- Uganda is one of the most biologically diverse countries in Africa. Home to endangered species like chimpanzees, and most of the region’s endemic bird’s species, planting trees here gives them a better chance of survival.
- A single tree can be home to hundreds of species of insects, fungi, moss and mammals. Depending on the kind of food and shelter they need, different forest animals require different types of habitats. Without trees, forest creatures would have now where to call home.
